Women For One’s First Blog!

Hi Readers! Here we are. Welcome to the first official Women For One Blog!

I am a woman, a mother, a wife, a friend. I am evolving into the most conscious, loving and aware person as possible for me. Isn’t that why we are all here? Ever since I was little I remember having a curiosity about any type of evolution: personal, cultural, planetary. I was always questioning where we are from, why we are here, how I can learn more to be a better person. I believe that curiosity is my greatest gift. It has allowed me to have lifetimes within lifetimes of experiences, wonder, mistakes and knowledge.

With this curiosity, I am excited to begin this journey of personal and worldly discovery for ALL WOMEN. It feels as if I have been writing this blog my whole life… or at least for the past several months. It has been a roller coaster of “Aha’s,” along with many blocks, perfectionism, rigidity… just some of the obstacles that were keeping me from writing and sharing my first blog. How ironic that I am blocked and perfectionistic when my lifelong intent is to speak my truth, be authentic, allow for what is, and create peace inside and out of myself.

So my deadline has come and gone many times. My fear of vulnerability, to actually put myself out there for all to inquire about, criticize, judge is where I begin. When I am one-on-one with a person I feel safe with, I sometimes feel safer than when I am with myself alone. Interesting pickle I have myself in.

Questions for readers: Does anyone feel the same way? I am sure that many do (or at least I hope they do!). Please speak up!

I begin by getting quiet and listening to my creative voice. I have spent my entire life taking countless self-help workshops, meditation courses, personal growth programs, healings, energy work, acupuncture, and going to good old fashioned therapy… the list goes on and on and on and on. But really, why can’t I just simply sit and be peaceful? Why can’t the majority of us do just that? Why am I terrified to share my deepest thoughts, my shame, my beauty with others to the depth that I yearn to do? Another question for readers. Please tell me.

This is the first of many, many inspirational quotes: (you will learn that I love quotes)

“Leap and the Net Will Appear”

This quote literally got me through my divorce 7 years ago as I chanted it daily. Now I will use it to leap into Women For One. But before I go there, I want to share a recent experience that inspired me. Last weekend, I was walking along the beach in Santa Barbara by the pier, looking at all of the beautiful art created by at least 100 artists. As I walked along and looked in each of these people’s eyes, I noticed a quality that each of them had that I yearned to have emerge from myself: COURAGE. Courage to put their creativity out for all to review, discern, judge, imbibe. The vulnerability and willingness of these artists brought tears to my eyes and inspired me to JUST DO IT. Yes another quote.

Question for women: How are you creatively expressing yourself and putting yourself out there in your life? Write to me…

The picture below is hanging in my house. I take it in visually daily as it is the inspiration for my creation of Women For One.

“We must play all the keys, seek out the tunes we hear and deliver them to those outside of our box.” – Christopher Park.

Women are powerful beyond belief. History has proven that when women unite with their ideas and actions, great things are always accomplished. The vision for Women For One (WF1) emerged from these beliefs.

Women For One empowers women of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds to exchange authentic dialogue and information about topics that are vitally important to them.

Women For One…

• Creates a virtual community to allow for authentic dialogue about issues that are important to women of all ages.

• Informs women about small non-profit organizations and causes that they can get involved with.

• Provides a place for women to be inspired daily with links to our favorite inspirational websites and quotes.

• Connects women to resources on any and all topics of interest and concern.

I am so excited about this journey and where it will take me and for all who decide to join me collectively in becoming the most present, peaceful and authentic people possible in our lives. In conclusion, I ask each of you to email me your comments, questions, ideas for blogs and discussions, and answers to the questions I have posed. Also please go on my Facebook and Twitter accounts and comment and “Like” WFO! I ask for you to join me in creating it. Let’s help one another. I already have plans to create a more formal online community to encourage more frequent dialogue and discussion, so please check back soon.

Look for my next blog in a few weeks!!!

I would like to end with a recent passage by Martha Beck, a life coach, trainer and inspirational person in my life. I am completely aligned with her recent comments on authenticity and I could not say it better:

“Being transparent, authentic and open is not fool hearty social behavior, but the only safe way to success. I am beginning to believe that radical openness is the single characteristic that will differentiate successful people from unsuccessful people as time goes on. According to Kevin Kelly, a leading theorist in technology and social change, as technology continues to transform our lives, privacy will become a thing of the past. This is obviously a daunting thought. The comfortable margins of anonymity and secrecy that have been normal for humans thus far are disappearing. The word “integrity” shares its root with the word “integer,” which means one indivisible thing. To have integrity means to be the same person, to say the same things, in almost the same ways, no matter what situation presents itself. “Duplicity” means to be two things. If you plan to live a duplicitous life, prepare for your hypocrisy to be known. It is the revelation of duplicity in those who are not honest and the revelation of integrity of those who are honest that I’ve seen freeing people all around me during the past few weeks. I believe this is a wave of social change that will ripple through all our lives, removing forever the possibility of living in duplicity while ostensibly championing integrity.

To me, these crazy times are breathtaking and exciting. The challenge to live with more integrity myself is like learning to ski a steeper slope than I’ve ever negotiated before. I have loved examining my own life, finding out where I have been wrong, and working to bring my values and actions into closer and closer alignment.

For those of you interested in “manifesting” a wonderful life, this scrupulously transparent, authentic, and open life will open the floodgates. The pressure to be honorable is here to make you powerful. This very day, do something brave to reduce any duplicity in your life. Stand up for yourself with someone who you’ve allowed to bully you. Apologize to someone with whom you may not have been entirely honest. Immediately – this is a promise – you will find the things you have been longing for drawing nearer to you. The TAO (The Way) of integrity puts the Law of Attraction on steroids. It brings hope, peace, clarity and love from everywhere in the Universe. Walk this bold path and watch your life blossom.” – Martha Beck
