I Wish She Knew…

You will notice when she enters the room…
No, not merely because of how she looks.
You will notice by the warmth she brings,
Which leaves a trace of delight resting gently into your heart.

She has that sparkle in her eyes…
A twinkle of light.
Her gaze—there’s hope in there.
She believes everything is going to be all right.

She is a mystery…
Not for the words left unspoken.
But for every word that flows from her soul,
A door opens to a new horizon.

She is present…
With all her heart she is here.
Even though, between her laughs, it’s almost clear…
Her mind tends to wander into the future, far or near.

She is strong
Even if tears have fallen down her cheeks
And words have failed to escape her trembling mouth,
She is not any less stronger the she was before.

With all her vulnerability, she is strong.
With all her flaws, she is perfect.

She is perfect.

***

She is me and you. She is each and every one of us.

I could only dare to imagine…if I have the power to reach out, to send a message to every woman out there, I guess this is what I would say.

It breaks my heart to hear a woman cry about her flaws. I wish she knew that nobody is flawless. We are all perfectly imperfect. These flaws she cries about are what make her unique.

It breaks my heart when a woman expresses that she is ashamed for her struggles in life. I wish she knew everybody has their own struggles at times. Even if sometimes we may feel we are the only one who is struggling to get by.

It breaks my heart to hear a woman say she feels foolish for questioning big and small things in life. I wish she knew we are all still figuring things out. And that is absolutely fine.

It breaks my heart to hear a woman say she feels sick of being tough and strong all the time. I wish she knew that she can cry, she can rest, and she can ask for help if she ever feels she needs it.

It breaks my heart to hear a woman say she feels lonely and unworthy of love. I wish she knew she is loved. Somebody out there loves her with all their heart. If we had the chance, we would love her, too.

It breaks my heart to hear a woman wish she could be more beautiful, more successful, more perfect. I wish she knew each and every one of us have our own light for us to glow.

It breaks my heart to hear a woman say she feels she needs to be more like everybody else. I wish she knew that each and every one of us have our own interests, passions, and specialties. The only thing we need to be is true to ourselves.

It breaks my heart to hear a woman say she feels empty, as if her life is meaningless. I wish she knew her life is hers only, and her stories are one of a kind.

It breaks my heart to hear a woman say she thinks her voice doesn’t matter. I wish she knew that we all matter. With different struggles we have gone through and different stories to tell, we all matter.

That’s why it is wonderful when we come together.

That’s why it is beautiful when we celebrate each other.

That’s why it is magical when each and every one of us unwraps a story from our soul.

To all women: I wish you knew that you are perfect and one of a kind. And we are very lucky to have you.
